THE RUNWAY ROUNDUP
It’s your turn to get ahead of next season’s trends and recreate the runway with a little help from yours truly.
By: Caitlyn Bishop, a Rodeo creator.
It’s hard to believe yet another summer has passed, but as they say, all good things must come to an end. While we may dread swapping linen for leather and swimsuits for sweaters, there’s one thing that makes September worthwhile: New York Fashion Week. The looks we’ve seen from SS25 are truly exquisite so we know the catwalks' latest trends are bound to take over this fall in all of their glory. With so many looks, trends, and stunning designs, it can be daunting to find inspiration. That's why we're here to help by narrowing down the best trends we've seen so far. So, without further ado, let’s take the runway to your day-to-day.
Fifty Shades of Blue
Shows L to R: Brandon Maxwell, Ralph Lauren, Carolina Herrera, Prabal Gurung
From sapphire to cerulean and every shade in between, blue seems to have emerged as the color of the season, and we’re not blue about it. From Herrera gowns to Ralph sweats, this sea of blue has taken over SS25. We’ve seen a vast array of cornflower blue pieces in more shows than we can count, so it’s only right that we share a look or two in this hue.

Let’s Slip into Sequins
Shows L to R: Brandon Maxwell, Monse, Chet Lo, Tove
As we’ve seen with countless collections last week, sequins are on the horizon for spring. While a little glitter makes an appearance on the runway almost every year, this season’s play on the look has been particularly captivating. Designers have embraced sequins in a variety of silhouettes, from structured gowns to slip dresses drenched in these beautiful beads. Monse’s collection this year featured multiple glitz-filled looks, and it's safe to say we are obsessed with every single piece. Now, let us show you how we will be rocking our sequins as we slip into fall this month.

Pop-It, Lock-It, Polka Dot-It
Shows L to R: Carolina Herrera, Tory Burch, Prabal Gurung, Rodarte
From Tory Burch’s chic trench coats to the whimsical gowns sweeping Carolina Herrera's runway, polka dots reign as a shining star this season across all of our favorite designers' collections. We’ve seen this timeless pattern showcased on a diverse range of garments and textiles, each piece reminding us why we’ve adored these adorable dots since childhood. The playful yet sophisticated appeal of polka dots is irresistible, making them a must-have for your ever-growing fall wardrobe. We love this pattern just as much as the next girl, and we're confident you’ll be poppin' off in polka dots this fall too. Whether you’re dressing them up for a special occasion or adding a touch of fun to your everyday look, polka dots are the perfect choice this season.

Unhinge the Fringe
Shows L to R: Proenza Schouler, Prabal Gurung, Ralph Lauren, 3.1 Phillip Lim
With the changing of every season, we embrace this period of transition by updating our closets, setting new goals, and adopting a fresh mindset. With that being said, we’re embracing a little something we like to call the three F’s this fall: funk, fun, and … fringe. If you're anything like the rest of us, Ralph Lauren’s collection has been the only thing on our minds, with the iconic gold fringe maxi skirt at the forefront. Fringe will be a quintessential staple in our wardrobe this season and this is how we plan to rock it…

Swift and Sheer
Shows L to R: Jason Wu Collection, Prabal Gurung, Ralph Lauren, 3.1 Phillip Lim
Whimsical, feminine, and romantic silhouettes will be the "it" look of the season this fall, and we are absolutely ecstatic to put our own spin on this style. Think Isabel Marant-esque garments, sheer silhouettes, and plenty of ivory for an aesthetic that is sheer perfection—no pun intended. So, while you pack away your shorts and sundresses, be sure to keep out those long white skirts—they're not going anywhere anytime soon…

Something in the Yellow
Shows L to R: Sergio Hudson, Rachel Comey, Prabal Gurung, TOTEME, Alaïa
Move over BRAT green… butter yellow is here and she’s anything but bland for this season’s palette. This shade has mesmerized us from the runway debuting Alaia’s genius works of art, to the sleekest of slip skirts on Tove’s runway. We seriously cannot get enough of this yellow. Now when we think of this shade, our mind usually wanders to the first bloom of spring and summer and not as much as a hue for the chillier months. But as we know there are no true rules in the game of fashion so let’s show you how this hue will rule in fall.
