After plenty of weekends in the Hamptons and more Aperol spritzes than we can count, we’re ready to cozy up with a good book at a local coffee shop in the crisp autumn air. And for that, we need a great outfit.
*Enter Caroline, our in-house fashionista, who’s here to fill you in on all the emerging fall trends so you can get a head start.*
Let’s break it down, shall we:
Tops:
Funnel neck sweaters, trenches, you name it.
Corduroy and suede jackets are everywhere right now, and I'm styling my suede jacket with a pair of velvet Vibi flats.
Canvas and wax jackets (think Barbour) are making a comeback. Try pairing one with a skirt or dress and boots instead of jeans, and embrace your "English countryside" vibe.
Match your scarf to your jacket. I love the leather outfit Kendall Jenner wore last winter—it gives off the same vibe as the Toteme sweater and scarf set.
It’s time to diversify. Dare we say wear white pants and denim after Labor Day? It’s going to be huge for fall and we certainly will be getting in on this chic trend.
Barrel or horseshoe jeans—whatever you call them—are here to stay, so it's time to bring them back or stock up while you can.
Swap out your athleisure for a chic pair of silk pants that still deliver on comfort.
…..but not just any boots. We’re talking hooded boots, suede boots, thigh-high boots (they’re back!!), biker boots, and welly’s (?). Yep, welly’s.
Try not to pair your bright yellow welly’s with a striped sweater and jeans, though.
Choose Ballet flats in a bold, bright color or a fun, multicolored design.
Platform Loafers. I’m opting for dark brown, green or burgundy instead of black.
After watching the Chloé runway show this past February, I’m convinced that clogs are sleek and sexy.
Super pointed heels, flats, boots add the perfect touch to any outfit.
Accessories:
Ponytail cuffs (swoon) are very demure very mindful.
Grab a pair of leather gloves to elevate your outfit for those morning coffee runs to Fellini.
Thick or sculptural belts paired with a silk dress or mini skirt will accentuate your curve.
Bags: bucket bags, slouchy bags, bracelet bags, red bags, denim bags, all the bags! (Don’t forget a bag charm;)
Sport those big, retro glasses. I love these ones for everyday wear!
