This week, Mira’s walking us through the unspoken rules of outfit planning — aka what everyone wants to know but no one actually tells you. From locking in the vibe to finding that one hero piece that makes your look click, Mira’s here to make sure you never feel “I have nothing to wear” panic again.
Her approach? Build a fit that speaks your language and the moment — whether that means pairing fringe boots with a slinky satin dress or tying a handkerchief somewhere unexpected. It’s giving thoughtful chaos. In the best way.
Let Mira show you how it’s done.

(What everyone wants to know and no one wants to tell you)
Let’s break it down.
First things first, we need to think about and establish the vibes of the function that you need said outfit for... are we going for western, sporty chic, girly, classic and timeless, artsy, tomboy, the list very much can go on and on forever... but I am going to walk you through the steps of how you can create a uniquely curated fit for any occasion. For the purpose of making this more of a how-to, I am going to be discussing how to create a cool outfit for a country concert. Once we think about the bottom line aesthetic and vibe of the event we need to dress up for, we should consider what might be in season/trending for that time period. For example, since we are curating an outfit for said country concert, I might consider that the western/horse/cowboy aesthetic is very much trending this year and that there are a number of fun accessories working right now that might be the perfect addition to help us grow our ever evolving, soon to be perfect outfit. Some fun trends that I might consider taking advantage of to help build this outfit might be cowhide prints, suedes, fringe, engineer boots, camo, handkerchiefs, hats. All of these things will help add some spunk to the outfit we're curating. Some of these items are expected, while others might not be.
Once we are aware of the trends and know of the vibes, we need to start picking out some pieces. When I am getting dressed, I usually focus on the first initial piece that screams the theme I am going for (this can be the pants, top, shoes, accessories), just make sure you have one conventionally “on theme” item as to not lose the plot. For my example, I am going to focus on fringe boots for my outfit and build from there. Next, think about what might typically pair nicely with that and consider how you might spice it up instead of opting for the most obvious pairing - for example, fringe boots might be nice with a mini skirt or with some denim shorts, but I am thinking of pairing them with a chic long satin dress with a side slit to show off the boots. See how that might not be the initial item you would have paired with the boots, but yet it still works and it just causes you to stop and think about it a bit more (which hopefully by now you understand is the key to creating a memorable outfit)! :) Then we just keep building, adding interest through accessories using texture, color, shapes, patterns, prints... To add to my satin dress and fringe boots I might add a cool cattleman cowboy hat and a slouchy belt to add even more western spirit, but maintaining a focus on elegance and an underlying chic essence because I know that is what I like to personally center my outfits around. It might also be cool to wrap a handkerchief around the brim of the hat or around my neck or arm to add another layer of interest. Also we need to always finish an outfit with the perfect bag (I would probably opt for a slouchy number for this outfit because its relaxed like the vibe of a westerner) and top it all off with the perfect jewelry (this fit could be cool with some vintage turquoise pieces or some modern neutral colored bangles.
The point is to HAVE FUN with your styling, make your outfits feel like you, while still trying to embrace the energy of wherever you are going! Styling and trying outfits should make you feel alive, it should leave you feeling confident and excited. I hope these tips were helpful in someway!!
Xoxo Mira!
